Results – 06/11/2021
Men’s 1 v Edgbaston 2 – W 4-1
The game started at a fast pace with Blossomfield still trying to cope. Suddenly there was a mistake from Edgbaston in midfield. Blossomfield took advantage and scored. Slowly the game was starting to be controlled by Blossomfield and they scored again.
Finally there was a positive attack from Edgbaston with a goal.
The second half was mainly all Blossomfield and scored twice to make it 4-1...

Men’s 2 v Bournville 3 – L 2-0
MoM - Sam W
Coming into the game with a 3-game win streak, confidence was high. Bloss had the majority of the ball from the start of the game, leading to multiple attacks that just wouldn’t find its way into the net. Bournville went 1-0 up against the run of play halfway through the first half. The game carried on with Bloss on the front foot. After a large multiple of short corners and a few disallowed goals Bloss were still unable to convert. In the last few minutes of the game, with the majority of players playing in attack, Bournville put away a second from a counterattack. Not an ideal Saturday.

Men’s 3 v Stourport 5 – W 7 - 2
Another solid game from the 3's against a good Stourport side we started very well with 2 quick goals but Stourport pulled one back before half time. After the break we came out well with a few more goals with them pulling back another one. A first goal from James Shoreson was a great lob of the keeper I'm sure more to come. Goals – Belly, Tom A, James S, Marcus, Sandy, Yusuf x2. MoM Yusuf Skinner

Ladies’ 1 v University of Nottingham 2 – D 3 – 3
Great game from the 1s who went into it 2nd favourites to a side who hadn’t yet lost any points. UoN got an early goal but the 1s kept fighting and worked hard. A fabulous short corner from Amelia Bogira and finished by Becky Hodgson put the 1s back in contention at the half time whistle. A penalty flick from Jenny Parkes and a goal from Amelia Bogira put the 1s ahead. UoN scored in the last 10 minutes leaving the game at 3 all. PotM was shared between Jenny Parkes and Laura Dickson

Ladies’ 2 v Sutton Coldfield 5 – W 5 - 4
An end to end game! Bloss took an early 2-0 lead which might have suggested it would be an easy game but this was not how it panned out. Bloss did however maintain the upper hand and throughout the game were either just ahead or drawing with Sutton. A strong penalty corner strike from Liane gave one of Bloss’s 5 goals, with the other FOUR being scored by on fire ? Helen Kavanagh. Not surprisingly MOTM went to Helen!

Ladies’ 3 v Khalsa Leamington 4 – L 7 – 0
No cards
POM - Jane Rice
Really tough game against technically very strong opposition. Everyone gave 100% for the entire match. POM went to Jane who had a great game in goal against such a tough opposition.

Vets v Pershore – D 0 – 0
The Vets travelled to play Pershore with some young faces who had helped us get a team together. Thanks to Keiron, Connor, Sandy and Chris.
It was a cold, damp and foggy evening in Evesham but this didn’t dampen the spirits and the game started at a good pace. This continued throughout the first half with both keepers busy and plenty of good hockey. Nobody could break the deadlock with an equal amount of good attacking and defending. With no subs to change it up, the second half continued in a similar vein. More chances were created as the game became an end to ender with both teams tiring. However, no goals were scored so we had a rare, but enjoyable, 0-0 draw followed by teas and cheap beer in Evesham.
