Men’s 1 v Olton & West Warwickshire – D 0-0
A short drive to Olton and a meet time an hour before push back wasn't enough warning for Sam Lloyd to get to the game on time, which was a sign of things to come for Bloss. Bloss struggled throughout the game to gain any attacking momentum and if anything Olton had the better chances on the break in a first half where not much happened, the highlight came from Gary Wackett wannabe Richard Weaver squaring up to an Olton player and was lucky to escape without a card. The second half was much the same with the best chance falling to Harry Mowat who managed to push the ball wide from 2 yards out under little pressure. At the other end Leaky Rabone tried to inject some excitement into the game when his noodle legs returned and he kicked the ball straight to an Olton attacker but even that couldn't spark the game into life. In the end a very boring 0-0. Man of the Match Leaky, if anyone finds Ed Thompson's shooting boots please return them to the club

Men’s 2 v Worcester 3 – Cancelled by Opposition

Men’s 3 v Bromsgrove 4 – D 3-3
After a shaky start we found ourselves 1 nil down but managed to pull it back to 2-2 at half time, then an unlucky goal went in for Bromsgrove but we managed to pull back a late equaliser to finish 3-3

Ladies’ 1 v Repton 1 - L 12-0
It was always going to be a challenging game with Repton undefeated and not having conceded a single goal all season. Despite this Bloss gave it their best efforts and had some great periods of play with the highlight Ollie saving a penalty flick from ex-Olympian Sally Walton. Anna Hunt had a brilliant game to win PotM

Ladies’ 2 v Stratford 2 – W 7-1
Another convincing win from the ladies 2s this week! It took a while for Bloss to get into their stride - but they went into the half time break 2-1 ahead courtesy of Amy McCartney’s reverse stick flick into the top right hand corner of the goal (yes really!). In the second half Bloss dominated and the goals came thick and fast. Goals from Bouncer (2), Helen, Carianne, Amy Mac and MOTM Elis Harrison (2).
Great work ladies - up against local rivals Old Sils next weekend. Bring it on!

Ladies’ 3 v Stratford 3 – W 2-0
PoM – Susie Willard and Jane Rice

Mixed Cup Success! – Bloss v Edgbaston – W 3-2
It is that time of year again as the cold creeps in and the Mixed Cup arrives on our shore. This year, we were drawn against Edgbaston, a team we have played a few friendlies against and always seemed to have a good game with so hopes were high! The first half started strong with a valiant 4-3-3 set up due to a brave Captain. Unfortunately, this misled strategy did not pay off and the first half finished at 0-0 with tensions high.
However, the Hockey God’s whispered into the ear of the Captain and the formation changed to a 4-4-2 miracle. Bloss went straight onto the attack and goals came in from
However, whenever a Cup run comes along, there is always the question of whether a team wants to win their first round or drop into the Plate. This was a key question for Ben “Leaky” Rabone and Bevo, who decided to make the score line a tad closer! Bevo started by falling over the ball on the line and allowing an Edgbaston attacked to slowly push the ball into the goal and then Leaky deflected a “shot” that was going off the at the side-line into his own net! This really added to the tension of the game as we headed into the last 15.
Luckily Bloss held out with some superb defending and won the game 3-2! This means we are now into the second round of the main club, which will be played on the 12th December 2021.
Man of the match went to Sam Willard. Dick of the Day went to Bevo, which was weirdly unanimous…
Special mention goes to Caron who kept the subs rolling on the side and, somehow, managed to identify some rigging of the man of the match vote!

U10 Tournament
What a great week for our budding U10s! Spirits were high on Sunday as the U10 journeyed to Olton to play in their second tournament. They lost 1-0 to Sutton, beat Olton 2-1 (at their own Gaff ?) and drew to both Sills and Atherstone 0-0. Some determined defending to hold off Atherstone with Matilda saving several on the line. Well done guys!!!
