Men’s 1 v Bromsgrove 1 – L 4-2
In a top of the table clash of two unbeaten teams Bloss were expecting a tough game, and as in previous week's started slowly and found themselves two goals down early on. As the game progressed Bloss started to get a foothold in the game and pulled one back through Richard Weaver with a fair bit of help from the Bromsgrove defender. In the second half Bromsgrove again started the stronger and after a flurry of short corners got a third through a poorly worked short corner that found its way through Ben 'Leaky' Rabone’s legs. Bloss did get a second through Aamer Chaudhary. With time running out Bloss were reduced to ten men when Connor Mapp upended a Bromsgrove forward (maybe he needs to lay off the creatine and WWE before next week's game) but as Bloss chased the game late on Bromsgrove scored a 4th.

Men’s 2 v Stourport 4 – L 6-2
Scorer - Alex Bevins x 2
MoM - Alex Bevins
Cards - Tom Bonell (Yellow), Sam WIllard (Green)
A frustrating afternoon for the 2s. After going down by two goals early in the game, Bloss tried manfully to battle their way back into the game only to be thwarted on regular occasions by highly contentious interpretations of the hockey rules with phantom foot fouls and a penalty flick awarded for daring to make a tackle in the D on the by-line. Bloss went into half time 4-1 down, but started the second half brightly, but the officiating eventually took its toll on the embattled 2s, with frustrations boiling over as the suggestion of particular individuals to check their eyesight was frowned upon.
The 2s battled throughout the game against adversity, not always playing their best hockey, but, Alex Bevins was back in the goals with a couple of cool finishes from close range. Keith Weaver made his long awaited return to the 2s, rolling back the years with some excellent saves throughout the game. The opposition took a particular liking to Kieran Loveridge, but he managed to survive the trip to Stourport and left with most of his body parts in tact.

Men’s 3 v University of Birmingham 6 – L 7-2
A valiant effort by Bloss against a much younger side, we managed to keep goals out for the first 10 mins but then a succession of 4 goals poured in before half time with us managing to pull one back ourselves. We carried on battling in the 2nd half with another goal coming from the opposition and one from us but 2 late goals from them which should have been kept out led to the final score.

Ladies’ 1 v Telford & Wrekin 1 – L 2-0
Bloss started the game well with lots of attacking play and were able to create chances. However Telford were quick on the break. The game remained at 0-0 until the last 10 minutes when Telford were able to capitalise on a couple of opportunities. Player of the match went to Amelia Bogira

Ladies’ 2 v Shipston on Stour 1 – W 6-0
The ladies 2s were delighted with the outcome of their game which was hard fought. There were no goals for the first 25 minutes but then Amy McCarthy opened the scoring. The visitors went in to the break with a two goal advantage. After half time the rest of the goals followed at regular intervals with the goals being scored by:
Amy Mac, Elis and Caitlin getting one each and captain bouncer scoring a hat trick.
Notable performances from Denise Fountain and Kat Vaughan (Bouncer!) secured joint MOTM - great work from both.

Ladies’ 3 v Berkswell & Balsall Common 2 – D 2-2
No Cards
POM - Jess Howe
A great game from all in which we had a lot of the possession. A goal from Sian Musgreave-Spiby early in the first half was followed by other opportunities which were defended by the opposition. The score going into half time was 1-0. Bloss started the second half strongly again with a lot of the possession but two successful counter attacks meant we fell behind 2-1. A short corner in the middle of the second half went wide but Hannah Skinner was on post to slip it in past the keeper to level up the score. Further chances to score in the second half were saved by the keeper with the final score a draw at 2-2.

Badgers v Old Silhillians – W 3-2

Over 40s Cup Success!
On Sunday, Solihull Masters (a team combining various clubs across Solihull) played their opening round match in the Over 40s Cup, away against a strong Stourport side.
The hard-fought game was competitive from the start and both sides had chances denied in the early encounters.
Solihull kept their discipline and scored from a short corner.
The second half was very open but Stourport equalised after end to end action. It finished 1-1 at full time.
Last season's positive run in the Plate competition ended with the disappointment of a penalty flicks loss away at Taunton.
Therefore it was a welcome relief when Solihull won flicks after some fine saves by Bloss keeper Andy Snelling. Next round is December the 5th.
